Dean-Throckmorton, Jeannette, 1883-1963.
Doctor and librarian. Dean-Throckmorton was born in Derby, Iowa, practiced medicine in Chariton with her father and became the first State Medical Librarian. She was active in several medical societies, including the State Society of Iowa Medical Women, the Iowa State Medical Society, Keokuk Medical College Alumni Association, the Des Moines Medical Women's Club, the Medical Women's Study Club and the Des Moines Academy of Medicine. She also worked for a time with the United States Public Health Service in cooperation with the Iowa Board of Health.
