Lye, Leonard
Blanche Marchesi (1863-1940) was the daughter of singing teacher Mathilde Marchesi (1821-1913). George McNeilly (1903-1987) was a pupil of Blanche Marchesi and was a musician, singer and teacher. He is recognised as having brought the Marchesi tradition to Australia where it had an important influence on the teaching of vocal technique. Leonard Lye was a singer with the Elizabethan Opera Trust, singing teacher and researcher of vocal pedagogy and Australian performance history and a student of George McNeilly.
