Simons, Savilla Millis, 1901-1994
Savilla Simons was a social welfare administrator in both public and private organizations. She worked in the federal government from 1940 to 1953, serving at the U.S. Children's Bureau, the Social Security Board, the Federal Security Agency, the State Department, and the U.S. Delegation to the United Nations. After leaving government, Simons becaue the national general secretary of the YWCA, 1953-1958, and then general director of the National Travelers Aid Association, 1958-1967.
