Burke, Walter, 1922-
Born July 30, 1922, Larchmont, N.Y.; matriculated at Dartmouth, fall 1940; served in the Navy, 1942-1946; J.D., Columbia Law School, 1948. Practiced law for four years, then spent the remainder of his career as the investment adviser to the Sherman Fairchild family and later as president and director of the Sherman Fairchild Foundation. Trustee of Dartmouth College, 1976-1986, chairman of the board, 1983-1986.
