United States. Board of Indian Commissioners
The Board of Indian Commissioners was established by a act of Congress in 1869.
This Board functioned as an independent agency of the federal government serving as an adviser on Indian affairs to the President, the Department of the Interior, and the Congress. After sixty-four years of service, the Board was abolished in 1933.
