Powell, Eleonore Sunny, 1910-1995

Eleonore Sunny Powell was born in North Dakota in 1910. During World War II, she worked in Los Angeles as secretary for the Armed Forces Radio. During the 1940s, she belonged to the Moral Re-Armament movement, which proposed that high moral behavior was the key to world betterment. She later married Foster Powell of Edmonds, Washington. In Seattle she held a series of jobs, including assistant to the foreign student director at the University of Washington, assistant to the superintendent of Seattle City Light, and assistant to the director of operations for the Seattle World's Fair (Century 21 Exposition). She died on 5 June 1995 at the age of eighty-five.
