Newton, A. H. (Abraham Newton), 1823-1903
Abraham Howe Newton was born in Princeton, Massachusetts, on March 24, 1823, the son of Ezra Newton (1774-1863) and Lucy Howe (1779-1826). He lived in Worcester, Massachusetts, where he was an agent for a glass company. Newton married Sarah Kendrick (b. 1819) on April 21, 1846, and they had two daughters, Lucy and Genevieve. On October 14, 1862, he enlisted in the 51st Massachusetts Infantry Regiment, Company F, and he served as a corporal until mustering out on July 27, 1863. Abraham H. Newton died on November 19, 1903.
