Trinity United Methodist Church

Trinity United Methodist Church, located on 9900 Madison Avenue in Cleveland, Ohio, originated in 1893 with the development of the West Side Mission by a group of people who saw the necessity for a house of worship in the West 96th Street area. The group held its first services in Anderson's Hall, a building located on the corner of West 96th Street and Madison Avenue. The Reverend E. C. Young, then pastor of Franklin Avenue Methodist Church, took charge of the mission and organized Trinity Methodist Episcopal Church with 33 members. A new building was built for the church in 1894 on 9900 Madison Avenue. The church was rebuilt on the same site in 1917 and remains in use under the current (1987) name of Trinity United Methodist Church.
