Marshall, Jonathan, 1924-
Publisher and editor of the Scottsdate Daily Progress.
Born in New York City in 1924, Jonathan Marshall received his B.A. in economics and political science from the University of Colorado. In 1953 he purchased the Arts digest, changed its title to Arts, and managed the publication for five years. He reentered school in 1958 in order to complete his M.A. in journalism. In 1963, Marshall began his career as editor and publisher of the Scottsdale daily progress. Elected president of the Arizona Newspaper Association in 1972, he has also served as chair of the ANA Legislative and Freedom of Information Committees. Marshall has served on the boards of seversl civic groups as well as being an active member of the Scottsdale Chamber of Commerce.
