O'Connell, Frédérique Emilie Auguste, 1823-1885.
The German painter and engraver Frédérique O'Connell settled in Paris in 1853, where she became a most "visible" artist, and had a very active social life. After the collapse of the Empire, she died poor, alone and forgotten.
