Teich, Frederic C., 1915-1965

Frederic C. Teich, Jr. (b. June 22, 1915-d. Nov. 25, 1965) was commissioned a 2nd Lt. in the Regular Army on June 14, 1938, after having graduated from the United States Military Academy. He served as battalion commander of the 2nd Battalion, Sixty-Sixth Infantry Regiment in the European Theater of Operations from January 15, 1945 until September 23, 1945, when he was assigned as the Executive Officer with the 6850th Military Internal Security Detachment with duty at Nuremberg. From August 11, 1946 he served as Operations Officer of the 6850th Internal Security Detachment, United States Forces European Theater until November 2, 1946, at which time he became Operations Officer with the 7742nd Guard Command, United States Forces European Theater. On November 30, 1946 he was assigned the duties as Prison Director, serving with Headquarters, 3rd Battalion, Twenty-Sixth Infantry Regiment and on April 29, 1947 was appointed Battalion Commander of the 3rd Battalion, Twenty-Sixth Infantry Regiment. After serving in various other positions in the European Command he returned to duty in the Continental United States in July 1948. He was promoted to Col. On November 27, 1959. While in military service he died on November 25, 1965.
