Hines, Thomas S.
Architectural historian Thomas Hines received his Ph.D. from the University of Wisconsin in 1971. He is Professor Emeritus at the University of California, Los Angeles, where he has taught cultural and architectural history in the Department of Architecture and Urban Design and the History Department. He has published numerous articles and is the author of several books, including Architecture of the Sun: Los Angeles Modernism, 1900-1970, Richard Neutra and the Search for Modern Architecture, and Irving Gill and the Architecture of Reform: a Study in Modernist Architectural Culture.
