Herbert, Rowland Bladen Charles, 1900-1981.

Designer and manufacturer. Born Adelaide. Herbert came to Castlecrag, Sydney, on the invitation of Walter Burley Griffin in 1926 to help Griffin with the construction of Knitlock houses. Around 1934 Herbert established a company for the manufacture of playground and gymnasium equipment. In 1973 Herbert retired and bought land at Malua Bay, NSW with the intention of building a Knitlock house.
