Edward W Nelson and others

Edward W. Nelson was born in 1883. He was educated at Clifton, Tonbridge and Cambridge University. He was working at the Plymouth Marine Laboratory when he joined the British Antarctic Expedition, 1910-1913 (leader Robert Falcon Scott), as biologist. He took part in a sledging journey to One Ton Depot, carrying food supplies for the returning polar party. Although specializing in invertebrate zoology, he also conducted tidal observations while at Cape Evans. He was awarded the Polar Medal. He died in 1923.
