Metropolitan Museum of Art (New York, N.Y.). Junior Museum
The Junior Museum of the Metropolitan Museum of Art, which opened in 1941, became the Department of Young People's Programs with the inauguration of the Uris Center for Education in January 1983. Enlarged and modernized facilities for the Junior Museum were completed in 1957. Serving as a center for children's activities, the Junior Museum organized special exhibitions and conducted programs planned in consultation with the New York City Board of Education.
