Hershey, A. D. (Alfred Day), 1908-
Alfred Day Hershey (b. 1908) was the first MSU alumnus to win the Nobel Prize. He received a B.S. degree in microbiology in 1930 and a Ph. D. in chemistry in 1934. He shares the 1969 Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine for his work in bacteriology.
