Illinois. General Assembly. Legislative Advisory Committee on Public Assistance.

The Illinois Legislative Advisory Committee on Public Assistance (1963- ), composed of six members each from the House and the Senate (appointed by the Speaker and the president pro tempore with only three members per party allowed for each chamber), was to advise the Illinois Public Aid Commission on public assistance policy and administration. Public Aid Commission legal exceptions were to be approved by a two-thirds majority of the Legislative Advisory Committee, which in turn reported to the General Assembly any deviations made from statutory limitations; and provided recommendations for remedial legislation.
