Bringhurst, Robert
Poet Robert Bringhurst was raised in the Canadian Rockies. He attended M.I.T., the University of Utah and Indiana University. Returning to Canada in 1973 after a prolonged residence in South America, Europe and the Near East, Bringhurst joined the Department of Creative Writing at the University of British Columbia. He authored several books including "Bergschrund" (1975), "Tzuhslem's mountain" (1982) and "The Beauty of weapons: selected poems" (1983). He served as co-editor of "Visions: Contemporary Art in Canada" (1983) which was the first work to document various movements in Canadian art since World War II.
