Barron, Elbert Macby, 1904-1969
Elbert Macby Barron, 1904-1969, was a representative to the Forty-second and Forty-third Texas Legislatures from Grayson and Collin counties. A resident of Van Alstyne in his early years, Barron practiced law in Sherman before going to Washington, D. C., to work with the War and Navy Departments and the Securities and Exchange Commission. In 1944 as a colonel in the U. S. Army, he served in the South Pacific. After 1947, he lived at El Paso and was president of Southern Gem Mining Company, importers and purveyors of gems and minerals.
