Oxford, Allen Christopher, ca.1835-1925.

Allen Christopher Oxford was born in Aliceville, Ala., ca. 1835. During the Civil War he served with the 8th Confederate Cavalry Regiment for General Joseph Wheeler's Cavalry Division. Following the War, Oxford was a professional photographer and worked in Macon, Ga. and Birmingham, Ala. Oxford was active in the United Confederate Veterans. Married twice, Oxford's second wife was Fannie Spiva of Wilcox Co., Ala. Oxford died in 1925.
