United Evangelical Lutheran Church. Wisconsin District.

The Wisconsin District of the United Danish Evangelical Lutheran Church was organized at the UDELC constituting convention in 1896. It included all of Wisconsin except Polk County. From 1898 to 1904, it was divided into North and South Wisconsin Districts and each district met twice a year. From 1904 through 1959, the Wisconsin District met annually. Included in the Wisconsin District is the oldest Danish Lutheran congregation in America, Emmaus Lutheran Church in Racine, Wisconsin.

The district at various times in its history supported the Bethany Children's Home (Waupaca, Wisconsin) and Shadow Lake camping retreat (Waupaca, Wisconsin). It had a district-level Luther League and Women's Missionary Society. The last convention of the UELC Wisconsin District was held September 17-20, 1959. In 1960, the UELC merged to form The American Lutheran Church. The former UELC Wisconsin District dissolved and the congregations became members of the Northern Wisconsin or the Southern Wisconsin districts in The American Lutheran Church.
