Smith, Josiah, 1789-1876.
Josiah Smith (1789-1876) was a resident of Lexington, Mass., making his living as a cobbler and fifer for various military companies. A War of 1812 veteran, he became a pensioner in 1872. Smith also invested in Maine Land, a tract then called the Eastern Indian Township. Much of his property appears to have been lost through bankruptcy proceedings during the 1840's.
