Created by Roscoe Ralph Oglesby
Roscoe Ralph (Ross) Oglesby was a professor at Florida State University and served as Dean of Students in the 1950s. The Obglesby Student Union on the FSU campus is named for him as well as the Ross Oglesby Award, which is given to a faculty or staff member of FSU who has provided distinguished service to students.
