Atherton Noyes: worked in banking and real estate in Colorado, 1887-1892; secretary of Colorado Summer School, 1892-1893, and director, 1896; taught English at Colorado College, 1893-1918, and Greek 1894-1903; dean of faculty of English, 1895-1901: taught English at Harvard and Radcliffe, 1919-1928.
Edward Parish Noyes: constructor of cotton machinery for Lowell (Mass.) Machine Shops; worked especially in South Carolina and Tennessee until 1884; 1885-1893, worked for Neverslip Horseshoe Company, Boston; 1893-1896, treasurer of the Hancock Inspirator Company.
