Freedmen's Aid Society

Freedmen's Aid Society of the Methodist Episcopal Church was organized in 1866 for the "relief and education required in behalf of the freedmen"; in 1920 the name was changed to the Board of Education for Negroes of the Methodist Episcopal Church.
