Boston Children's Aid Society

The Boston Children's Aid Society was founded in 1863 to provide temporary reformative care for children and to bind them out to appropriate families. It later provided homes for destitute children as well. By 1900 it had closed its three homes and began to provide foster and medical care for needy children. In 1923 it merged with the Boston Society for the Care of Girls to form the Children's Aid Association, later to become the Boston Children's Service Association.
