Banister, Thomas, barrister-at-law
Ex-army man who arrived in Western Australia in 1829. Selected land at Canning and Albany. Appointed Government Resident in Fremantle 1830. Led first overland expedition from Perth to Albany. Left the colony in 1835, returning in 1837.
