Louisiana Library Association
The Louisiana State Library Association was organized in 1909 as an outgrowth of the New Orleans Library Club. LSLA held meetings and elected officers through 1913; however, by the end of World War I the Louisiana State Library Association was no longer active. The organization reorganized in 1925 as the Louisiana Library Association. The first annual conference was held in 1925, and the first LLA Bulletin was issued in 1931. As a professional organization for librarians in Louisiana, LLA has provided its members with information about projects, programs, continuing education, and publications relative to the profession.
