Johnson, Alexander H., approximately 1847-1930
Narragansett Indian, adopted by prominent black attorney William Henry Johnson, of New Bedford, Mass.; served as drummer boy with 54th Regiment, Massachusetts Volunteers during the Civil War; later lived in Worcester, Mass., where was active in the G.A.R., Col. George H. Ward Post No. 10 and taught drums.
