Sichynskyi, Myroslav, 1887-
Myroslav Sichynsky (1887-1979), a political and social activist, was born in Chernykhivtsi, Ukraine. In 1908, he assassinated the governor of Galicia, A. Pototski, in retaliation for the killing of Ukrainian peasants during the diet election of the same year. He was then forced to leave Ukraine and in 1914 arrived in America. In the 1930s, Sichynsky was the president of the Ukrainian Workingmen's Association (now the Ukrainian Fraternal Association). He died in Detroit, Michigan.
