Ludlow family.
George C. Ludlow (1830-1900), an 1850 graduate of Rutgers College who began a law practice in New Brunswick, Middlesex County, New Jersey, in 1853, was a Democrat who served as a state senator, 1877-1881, as the Governor of New Jersey, 1881-1884, and as an associate justice of the New Jersey Supreme Court, 1895-1900, in addition to serving his alma mater as a trustee and local and county government as an elected official. Ludlow's family included his wife Mary (1826-1905) and their sons Charles B. and William G. Ludlow.
