Ford Motor Company. Rouge Division.

In 1949, Rouge Automotive Operations and the General Production Division were reorganized into non-automotive administrative support and operational plants. The newly formed Rouge Division incorporated many of the production organizations of the General Production Division and Rouge Automotive Operations as well as some support offices such as the Maintenance and Salvage Office and Manufacturing Engineering office. In addition, previously separate plant accounting and auditing functions were centralized in a new Rouge Division Controller's Office that was responsible for the day-to-day financial operations of the division. In 1950, the Rouge Division was reorganized yet again, creating the Basic Products Group; Engine and Pressed Steel Group; Aircraft Engine, Tractor, and Machined Products Group; and the Manufacturing Group, which included Highland Park Operations and the Mound Road Engine Plant.
