Tennessee College for Women (Murfreesboro, Tenn.)

The Tennessee College for Women was established in 1905 by the Tennessee Baptist Convention. It was chartered by the state legislature in the same year and opened its doors in September 1907 in Murfreesboro, Tennessee. It continued in operation until 1946, when it was merged with Cumberland University in Lebanon, Tennessee. That merger was revoked in 1951; the assets of TCW were subsequently transferred to Belmont College in Nashville the same year.
