Stickels, Dudley Jordan.
Dudley Jordan Stickels, born 9 March 1917, in Torrington, Connecticut, was by trade a carpenter and a salesman who loved the railroad. He collected materials relating to the history, routes and equipment of the Central New England Railway (CNE). As a result of his study, he began a collection of steam locomotive photographs, some of which were used by railroad history author Lucius Beebe. Dudley Stickels died in North Carolina in 1992. Other railroads represented in this collection were mergers with CNE, such as the New York, New Haven & Hartford Railroad into which CNE merged in 1927.
