Cain, Virginia S.

Resident of Reno, Nev.; teacher, employment and personnel counselor, project director for the Child Support Enforcement Judicial Education Project, and former curriculum director of the National College of Juvenile Justice. Cain is a member of the Washoe County Central Committee and was chair of the Nevada State Democratic Party, treasurer of the Executive Board of the Association of State Democratic Chairs, member of the Democratic National Committee, and delegate to many Democratic national conventions from 1972-1996. She was active in the Anne Martin Political Caucus (Reno), National Women's Political Caucus, Nevadans for ERA, League of Women Voters of Nevada, Governor's Advisory Committee on Youth, Governor's Commission on the Status of Women, and many other commissions and boards. She has received many awards recognizing her contributions to Nevada and to the Democratic Party. Cain is married to Edmund Joseph Cain, dean emeritus of the College of Education at the University of Nevada, Reno (UNR), and has three children.
