Ferguson family.
The family moved to what became Starksboro Village, Vt., about 1790. Elisha and Elijah Ferguson, alone or in partnership with each other and others, ran a forge, furnace, tavern, wheelwright shop, and store. In the next generation, David Ferguson carried on a foundry making ploughs, cultivators, and miscellaneous iron items. Family members also had a farm.
