Gilbert, John, -1845
Naturalist. Arrived in Australia with John Gould in 1838. Collected specimens for Gould, notably in Western Australia and the Northern Territory. Joined Leichhardt's overland expedition and was speared by Aborigines in North Queensland in June 1845.
