Woodward, Joseph Janvier, 1833-1884
Joseph J. Woodward (1833-1884) was a surgeon in U.S. Army Medical Department. He is considered a pioneer in the field of microscopic photography. Woodward was among the surgeons attending President James Garfield after he was shot by Charles Guiteau.
