Hayes, Benjamin, 1815-1877
Biographical note: Lawyer and forty-niner, Benjamin Hayes traveled from Independence, Missouri on Sept. 10, 1849 and arrived in Los Angeles on February 26, 1850. He became a prominent judge and civic leader in Los Angeles.
