Quinn, James Peter, 1869-1951
James Quinn served as an official war artist during World War I and in 1919 was appointed an official artist, Canadian War Records. He established an impressive London reputation as a portrait painter. In ca. 1937 he returned to Australia, and was elected president of the Victorian Artists' Society, and with the exception of one year (1946-1947) remained so until his death.
