Boon, Ratliff, 1781-1844

A native of North Carolina, Boon lived in Kentucky before moving to Warrick County, Ind. in 1809. The county seat was later named after him. In 1813 Boon began his career in politics as county treasurer, and moved to the state level where he served in the House and Senate, and as Lieutenant Governor and Governor. He also served in the U.S. Congress from 1825 to 1827 and 1829 to 1839.
