Wisconsin. Bureau of Personnel
The Bureau of Personnel was created in 1929 (Chapter 465) to assume the duties of the State Civil Service Commission (see WIHV87-A1624). Independent until 1959, in that year Chapter 228 placed the Bureau within the newly-created Department of Administration (see WIHV85-A694). Chapter 196, Laws of 1977, replaced the Bureau with the Division of Personnel (WIHV85-A775) within the new Department of Employment Relations (see WIHV85-A905).
