Bradford Family.

The Bradford family has deep roots in Philadelphia dating back to 1682 when William Bradford (1663-1752) came to Pennsylvania from England and established the first printing shop in Pennsylvania. The Bradford family carried on the printing business for several generations while pursuing other interests in business, education and public service. Bradford's grandson, William (1721-1791), is arguably the most notable figure in the Bradford family history for his accomplishments in printing, the military and other ventures.
