Carlson, Mary Nell, 1923-2009

Mary Nell Carlson was born in Travis County, Texas, on September 28, 1923, the daughter of Rudolph and Alice Fredrickson. She married Gordon Carlson on August 19, 1949. She served the State of Texas her entire career, working for the Highway Department and the Board of Water Engineers, and many years in the Governor's office. She served as special assistant to the press secretary under John B. Connally and five other Texas governors. She died on September 22, 2009, in Manor, Texas.
