Taylor, Dorothy Mae, 1928-2000.

Dorothy Mae Taylor was a politician in New Orleans during the mid to late 20th century. She began her political career as a Deputy Clerk in the New Orleans Civil District Court, and later served in the Louisiana State Legislature and as head of the State Department of Urban and Community Affairs. In 1986, Taylor was elected as Councilwoman-at-Large for the city of New Orleans. In addition to her tenure in office, Taylor served on numerous local, state, and national boards and committees.
