Ohio Yearly Meeting of Friends (Orthodox : 1828-1854)
In 1808 Redstone, Salem, and Short Creek quarterly meetings of the Society of Friends, originating within the Baltimore Yearly Meeting, requested a new yearly meeting west of the Allegheny Mountains. The Ohio Yearly Meeting "set off" in 1813 included Ohio, Indiana Territory, and adjacent parts of Pennsylvania and Indiana. In 1820, the Ohio Yearly Meeting established the Indiana Yearly Meeting. In 1828 followers of Elias Hicks (Hicksites) separated from the orthodox Friends.
