Weller, Gladys Lasky, 1922-1988.
Gladys Lasky Weller, ballet teacher, choreographer, and dance scholar, came to the United States in 1954 from London, England, after years of classical training at the Royal Ballet School, La Scala, and with the Royal Danish Ballet. She opened a dance studio in Macon, Georgia, in 1956 and founded the Macon Ballet Guild. She was a lifelong member of the Royal Academy of Dancing and the Imperial Society of Dance Teachers, as well as a director of Dance Masters of America. She was elected to membership in the Royal Academy of Ballet and served on the Georgia Arts Commission.
