Jonah, Bishop of Washington D.C., 1894-1955.

Jonah (Stahlberg) had a military education and served as an officer in the Russian Army during the First World War and the Russian Civil War. He came to America in 1923, was a factory worker until he was ordained in 1942. He taught at several schools, was assistant secretary of the Metropolitan Council (1946-1949), and a priest in San Francisco (1949-1951). From 1951 until his death, he was Bishop of Washington D.C.
