West Central Regional Development Commission (Minn.)

Established in 1973 by the Minnesota legislature, with supporting funds from private foundations, the West Central Regional Development Commission acted as a clearing house for information on the economic development and social services of communities in nine counties: Becker, Clay, Douglas, Grant, Ottertail, Pope, Stevens, Traverse and Wilkin. The Commission, which consisted of various elected officials, private citizens and professional staff, collected information and issued reports for the use of local governments and organizations. The Commission ceased to exist in 1982, when public funding ended for its activities.
