Whitworth College Auxiliary
The Whitworth College Auxiliary was first organized as the Women’s Board of Whitworth College by a resolution of the Whitworth College Board of Trustees passed on September 23, 1915. The charter was signed by President Donald D. McKay and Secretary R. E. Porterfield. The auxiliary’s principal work over the years has been to provide furnishings in the dormitories and public spaces on the campus, especially replacing pieces worn out due to heavy use. It raises funds for its endeavors from friends of the college through style shows, teas, bazaars and other social activities of particular interest to women.
